Your licence

How to activate DockPal, move your licence to a new Mac, find a lost key, and what to do if your old Mac died before you could deactivate it.

Pick it up

Each DockPal licence works on one Mac at a time, and you can move it to a new one.

Activate DockPal

After you buy, Dodo Payments emails your licence key. Open DockPal and paste the key into the window that appears. This needs an internet connection. After that, DockPal keeps working offline.

To check your licence, go to Settings › About › Licence. It shows the email address it’s licensed to and the last few characters of your key.

Move to a new Mac

  1. On the old Mac, go to Settings › About › Licence.
  2. Choose Deactivate on This Mac.
  3. Open DockPal on the new Mac and activate it with the same key.

If you see a message that the key is already in use on another Mac, it’s still active on the old one.

Use it on a second Mac

To run DockPal on two Macs at the same time, buy a second licence.

Lost your key?

Search your email for your Dodo Payments receipt. If you can’t find it, write to myself@vikaskalwani.com.

Your old Mac died

If you couldn’t deactivate it first, write to myself@vikaskalwani.com and we’ll free the licence so you can activate DockPal on your new Mac.

What the licence check sends

DockPal contacts Dodo Payments when you activate, each time it opens, and when you deactivate. The Privacy Policy lists exactly what’s sent. If your Mac is offline during a check, nothing happens and DockPal keeps working.

If a key is refunded or revoked, it stops working, and DockPal asks for a key again.
