Add the widget
- Right-click your desktop and choose Edit Widgets.
- Search for DockPal.
- Pick a size and drag it onto your desktop.
What it shows
Every size shows your corgi, its mood, five hearts and its happiness percentage.
- Small keeps to those.
- Medium and large add a line about today, or what your pet would like, plus buttons for treat, ball, bath and butterfly.
Clicking the widget itself opens the Happiness Meter.
Shortcuts actions
DockPal adds six actions to the Shortcuts app:
- Give a Treat
- Throw a Ball
- Give a Bath
- Call a Butterfly
- Start a Focus Session, from 1 to 180 minutes (25 by default)
- Stop the Focus Session
You can also use them from Spotlight, or ask Siri with phrases like “Give my pet a treat in DockPal” or “Start a focus session in DockPal”. DockPal needs to be activated for them to work.
Ideas to try
Build a shortcut with any of these, then run it from the menu bar, a keyboard shortcut or an automation, if your version of macOS offers them:
- Deep work: start a 90-minute focus session.
- Lunch break: give your pet a treat before you step away.
- A quick smile: call a butterfly whenever you finish a task.
- Morning routine: start a focus session alongside the other apps you open.
